Volunteers of Haverhill – we want to celebrate you.

ONE Haverhill Partnership and the new High Sheriff of Suffolk, George Vestey, have teamed up to honour the unsung heroes of our community at a special event during National Volunteers Week.

A High Sheriff Garden Party at Mr Vestey’s glorious Thurlow Estate will be held on the evening of Monday 4th June – and we are looking for you to put forward volunteers who deserve to be invited.

John Mayhew, chairman of ONE Haverhill Partnership, said: “We are very proud to work with the High Sheriff of Suffolk on this celebration of volunteers and we would urge our community to put forward the names of volunteers who deserve this recognition.

“Maybe you know people who have given years of voluntary service to their community, an organisation or charity or to their local school.

"Maybe you know someone who has made a real difference to the lives of people living, working or visiting Haverhill or a young person who has belied their tender age to showcase a real voluntary spirit.

"Whatever they have done, we want to hear about it.”

George added: “When I proudly became the new High Sheriff of Suffolk, I wanted to give something back to my local community and honour the amazing volunteer spirit in Haverhill and throughout the county as much as possible.

“I am delighted to be hosting this garden party at my home to coincide with National Volunteers Week.”
